What moves us
Literature is our great love. Since 1999, thanks to a partnership with the Hamburg Literaturhaus, we have been the Hamburg home for authors and presenters from Germany and abroad.
However, we don’t miss out on the broader world of culture either. This allows us to offer you a wide range of events – from literature to music and the performing arts.
The Literaturhaus Hamburg's reading series “Literati in the Hotel” takes place several times a year in our Red House and is dedicated to contemporary Swiss authors such as Alex Capus, Laura de Weck or Monique Schwitter.
Since 2015 we've been hosting the Hamburg Breakfast Reading. Once a month with the Hamburg Literature Centre we welcome German-speaking authors to read from their recent works.
Conceived as a flexible and open stage, the Wedina Culture Salon offers artists from the fields of literature, music and performing arts the opportunity to present themselves to a wider audience.
Every two years, a literary competition is held in the St. George district. The winners are always honored at the Wedina. We are also proud to support the writers from our little neighborhood.
